Week #16 update
Not a massive amount done this week on Lode Runner Online: The Mad Monks' Revenge/Rewrite due to my brother coming to visit. Watch Game of Thrones season 5 on Blu-ray and playing StarCraft: Brood War does not leave a lot of time.
The April build will be up and ready to download this weekend (Saturday the 30th, Australia time).
A name in parenthesis and in bold is the finder of the bug/quirk. Thanks to all, I really do appreciate your time and support. Cheers!
Game
- clicking the kill runner icon on the UI will resume the game from the pre-start pause - the matches the original
- fixed bug that prevented runners from unlocking doors (Jared)
- collecting all gold when cheating will now empty monks' pockets (Jared)
- accessing the options from the in-game menu will return to the in-game and not the game as before
- runner can now accumulate more than 99 lives (the UI will stay capped at 99) - this matches the original (Jared)
- fixed bug that prevents runners from being gassed when on a ladder with no block below (Jared)
- when gas clears, runner will be able to idle on ladder and not fall - this matches the original
- fixed bug that could crash the game when a player is crushed in a blasted block
- if the puzzle is set in the dark and a runner has no lives left in a two-player game, the light patch no longer remains (Jared)
- fixed bug that caused instant death if a runner starts on the same tile as a monk entrance door (Jeffrey)
General
- puzzles edited via Lode Runner Hacker's Editor to have monks and runners sharing the same start position will now load (and play the same as the Original) (Jeffrey)
- update the error logging;
- the custom, binary format was not working on OS X or Linux machines
- logs are now plain English and human-readable
- added a README file to the project. You can find it starting from the April build with the execute.
- configurations files are now preserved when updating builds (patches or monthly downloads) (Jared)
Bugs being worked on
- blocks blasted instantly 'healing' and crushing a monk - timing dependent (Jayde)
- case-sensitive filename support not working correctly on Linux machines
What I'll probably do next week
- LAN lobby
