MMR Update #5

Release notes for February 2018 (build 18.2.25). This build contains fixes and enhancements, along with work in online gaming.

Online gaming is nearing completion - if you'd like to test this, just let me know and I'll send you the instructions to enable it.

New

  • local and net gameplay updating share the same code
  • game speed added to game saves
  • pause system supports net games
  • lobby improvements;
    • chat messages match the colour of the player
    • player icon blinks to indicate a player is typing a message

Fixes

  • network synchronization checks did not include player state information
  • lobby;
    • changes to game (quirks/classic mode, lives, etc) did not take effect (Howie)
    • chat messages truncated instead of wrapping to a new line
    • chat box was set too large, causing text to draw behind submit button
    • host did not receive chat message in lobby after changing the puzzle set
    • changes to game puzzle set could cause the game to crash (Howie)
  • detecting players in a cloud of befuddlement gas executed multiple times per player
  • YOG cheat (CTRL+F5 - collect all gold) did not work
  • main menu scoreboard did not reset when returning from editor, choosing a game, or network dialogs
  • players did not always drown in the correct position (Howie)
  • falling runners did not match the Original game
  • runners did not always land on a monk, and got eaten as a result
  • Flying Lode Runner quirk updated to stop runner at edge of screen - deviation from Original game

Known Issues

  • gamepad feedback keeps going when using more than one controller
  • monks merging when crossing on/off ladders and using ropes
  • switching to windowed mode hides the Dock (Sierra)
  • regen bomb timing does not accurately match the Original
